I just wanted to make a simple gathered skirt. But I couldn't resist the idea of making one with ruffles. So I ended up spending the entire day making this skirt. This also gave me the chance to learn more about the sewing machine we have at home. I learned how to change the tension, as well as use additional stitches so that I could make the underside of the skirt look better.
Making a gathered skirt would have been simple. But details like ruffles make it trickier. I think that I will enjoy making a couple more of skirts for myself as experiment. Hopefully next time, I'd be brave enough to try making drawstring pants XD
Great to see you're experimenting! I like your choice of fabric as well as your decision to add a ruffle; it's very fitting for the over-all look. Keep up the great work! I look forward to seeing more of your creations in the future. ;)

Thanks, Raichu! :) Someday I will post those pants :D
ReplyDeleteHi Jonette! Thanks for dropping by and I am glad you like it :) Your first skirt was an inspiration. I think you called it your not-so-lolita skirt. XD I am excited to make my Chibitalia skirt and I'd most likely try the skirt sewing method you told me over IM :)
