I like learning different kinds of things. Whether it's
baking or cooking,
knitting or crocheting, it could also be something like
sewing, I get really fascinated. But I also like some activities which require me to be more active. I like biking (and I need to clean my bike because I didn't use it much when it became rainy) and poi. Poi is probably one activity that I could do indoors or outdoors. Though of course, it's better outdoors. ;) My initial lessons came from a friend who's really good at it. But I followed it up with lessons from
Planet Zips when I used to work near a park where they held lessons. It has been years since I last had my lesson and one of the things I totally didn't get was the reverse thread the needle. I kept hitting myself so there were times that I got very frustrated. No matter how much I tried and reviewed the r
everse thread the needled lesson from Home of Poi, I didn't get it. But I think I am getting close to actually learning it. ;) I am getting the hang of the scooping motion. Maybe yesterday's trip to the beach got me back into the groove of doing this. I don't know. I hope to find a way to maybe ask someone to video me while spinning poi. (Not a very graceful person but it's pretty fun anyway.)
A couple of pictures from yesterday:
That's me with my Planet Zips poi. Love those colors! They've been with me for 4 years now, or something like it.
Me using my friend's poi. A bit heavier than the ones I own but they're less sturdy.
That's me in Camaya Coast with my friends. I think it was Joan who took these pictures. Too bad I have no pictures of me when I was in a better mood. XD
Camaya Coast was a pretty place. :) The sand was fine and so was the sun. ;) Maybe that's part of the reason why I got into the groove in the afternoon. Haha. XDDDD In any case, I do hope to post more poi related updates~! Especially now that summer is here and it's the perfect time for it.
